Dr. Rets Vīgants studied at the Faculty of Medicine of Latvian Academy of Medicine. Completed residency in Surgery Clinic of Riga Stradiņš University. Completed vascular ultrasound post-graduate training courses at Pauls Stradiņš Clinical University Hospital and courses at Baltic Phlebology Society. Dr.Rets Vīgants has had in-service training at General and Endocrine Surgery Clinic in one of the largest European medical centers: Centre Hospitalier Regional Universitaire de Lille, France.

Phlebologist Dr. Rets Vīgants has improved his skills in sclerotherapy with the founder of the method Professor Sadek in Paris. Specializes in the diagnostic and treatment of venous and lymphatic diseases: conventional operations and vein laser operations, as well as in sclerotherapy. Is the member of Baltic Society of Phlebology, Latvian Society of Phlebology and Latvian Association of Surgeons. Is the author of numerous scientific publications.
